Entry 14

This is a post I’ve been dreading to make while simultaneously waiting way too long for. I had huge hopes and dreams to publish Soul of Solace by November 11 of this year, but unfortunately, because I do not control life, it’s not able to happen. Le Sigh.

It’s so close, but the image in my head is so vivid and detailed, and I want to make sure that this book has everything to do my vision justice. This book is much more brutal in the sense that the emotional toll it’s taking on me just seems to take up more of my time.

However, I look back on this year with a full heart because maybe I didn’t meet my imaginary deadline but I did accomplish SO much. I’m closing out the year with a final event before the launch of Soul of Solace. October 18, at the Grand Rapids, Mi Barnes and Noble, I’ll be attending the Fans of Fiction Author Fest. If you’re in the area and haven’t heard about it, what rock are you under? Maybe I need to come visit to finish this book…

Joking of course, but alongside the bittersweet prolonged release date, and a few great accomplishments, I do have something new for you! This year I finally found an amazing Editor, @kmortonedits, she took Sight of Solace and transformed it into everything it needed to be.

In celebration, I’m going to be re-releasing the fully edited version of book 1, Sight of Solace, on November 11.

This is a beautiful moment in the journey. One where I’ve been able to perfect the foundation for the rest of this series and revisit the flame that ignited my passion for this story. As an indie author who took on a huge project, I know that my biggest downfall has been editing. Adding Kay to my creative process not only allows me to learn and improve, but to give you the best version of my stories. I can’t thank her enough.

I will also be working on the details of Soul’s official cover, arcs, and even a street team, because when we do this, we are DOING it!

So while I am in fact not a superhuman or magical fae myself, I am still working on bringing you some pieces of real magic.

I hope you stick around for this journey, find joy in the anticipation, and feel excitement, because this is well worth the wait!
